Called To Serve

Justin, Mom, and Dad went to Salt Lake last week to do some shopping for Justin's mission. They were able to go to a few stores and purchase everything he will need for his mission. He came home with all kinds of useful things for his mission.

They also had the opportunity to go to the Salt Lake Temple together. All of the siblings were very jealous but excited that Justin had the chance to go.

They were also able to go to the MTC and scope out the place J will live for 12 weeks.

It is hard to believe that Justin will be leaving in about 8 weeks. We are so proud of you J!!! The people in Ukraine are so lucky to have such an awesome missionary coming!!

Lots of 2X4's

The latest project in our family is building a shed at the new house. Since it was Spring Break, and the Son-in-Laws were free, it was the perfect time to get started. They accomplished a great deal. They still need to finish the roof but they have made great progress from the pile of 2X4's they started with.
The new house is coming along too! Only a few more major things to finish and it will be ready to move in. We are so excited for Mom and Dad! After 25+ years in their current house they deserve it! Here is a preview.

A peek at part of the Outside...still missing the courtyard

The Living Room & Fireplace The Dining Room and Entry

(the doors still need to be stained and the paint around the floorboards still needs to be touched up)

Half of the Kitchen and The Breakfast Nook

The Family Room

The rest of the house is coming along and we will try to post pictures as they are completed. We are so excited for all of the space in the new house. Especially with all of the upcoming events in the family.... it will be very nice to have space for everyone who is attending.

Call your Mimi!!

What happens when a 4 year old continues to pester his parents about getting a pet? Well of course he calls his Mimi and ask her to buy one. That is exactly what Mr. C did today. First, he asked Mimi to get a rabbit to keep in her backyard. However, with Cooper running around Mimi quickly put an end to that idea. Mr. C decided he could settle for a frog. So Mimi, thinking she would get him a water frog, went to the pet store with Mr. C. Well I guess you call this a water frog but, I am sure it was not what Mimi was thinking when she recommended a water frog.
Mr. C and Sweet E are the proud owners of not one, but two Red Belly Water Toads! They have a pretty awesome little terrarium set up. Lets hope they stay in there and they don't mysteriously end up loose in the house.

Justin's Call

I remember when Justin was just a little kid, it seems like just yesterday. We always knew the time would come for him to turn in his mission papers but, it always seemed so far away. Now 19 years later he has his call. For just over 3 weeks everyone, family and friends, have been guessing where he would be called. It is funny looking back and seeing that not a single person guessed the country that he will be serving in for the next two years. As mom said "You know that this is where the Lord needs Justin."
We are all so proud of him. Thinking about him leaving is sad, but knowing that he will be serving the Lord makes it a little easier to handle. I know Justin will bless many lives as he serves the people in his mission. Justin, we love you and are so proud of you!!

In 1998 a temple was announced to be built in the Ukraine. In 2007 they broke ground and they are anticipating the dedication of the temple in the Late 2010. Just in time for Justin's arrival from the MTC.

One of my favorite quotes about missionary work comes from Henry B. Eyring, "Rise to Your Call,"
"You are called to represent the Savior. Your voice to testify becomes the same as His voice, your hands to lift the same as His hands. His work is to bless His Father's spirit children with the opportunity to choose eternal life. So, your calling is to bless lives. .

Anyone who knows this kiddo has seen this face before. This is the face he makes right before he runs full blast at you! He has so much love bottled up inside it is the only way he can get it all out! I love it!
